Private training is offered as either Owner-absent or Home-based Training, and each approach is offered in 4, 6, 8, and 10 week programs. The type of training and length of the program are determined by your goals and expectations (what you want to get out of the program), your dog's specific learning needs, and the severity of any existing behavior issues. Type of training and program length are decided at the intial evaluation.
Payment Options You may choose to pay the full cost of the program up front -OR- you may pay 20% of the total cost as a down payment and then pay set weekly fees at the beginning of each session. Currently How to Be a Good Dog LLC. accepts only cash or checks.
Travel Charge Due to rising gas prices a travel charge has been implemented. The charge is 50 cents per mile after 30 miles (from Chambersburg) multiplied by the number of weeks your dog's program lasts. This may seem a bit complicated so if you have any questions regarding this fee, feel free to call and I will explain in detail.
Multi-dog Training Discount This discount was designed for persons owning multiple dogs. Training costs for multiple dogs can become pricey. Because of this, many muti-dog owners are hesitant to enroll in any type of training. On the other hand, many trainers avoid offering discounts for multi-dog training because of the increased involvement that training multiple dogs requires. This is unfortunate because training designed for dog siblings (dogs that live in the same home environment) can be unbelievably rewarding. During multi dog training, each dog will receive customized training to his specific learning style and personality in addition to training relating to pack management including social order and pack harmony. To help alleviate the cost of enrolling multiple dogs into training and to increase the occurrence of multi-dog owner participation in training, How to Be a Good Dog LLC. offers a discount for multi-dog owners. If you enroll two or more dogs into a training program at the same time you will receive a 40% discount on the total cost of each additional dog's training program.
